Xenocell

Xenocell (website) is a massively multiplayer online, sci-fi role-playing game. It is currently under development, but a public beta test seems to be really close.

We started developing the game in mid 2007. Since then, the original design documents have grown heavy, and changed much. We've learned a lot during the months that passed.

We had to solve a number of technical, financial and even educational problems that we faced. We overcame most of these issues primarily via our choice of game engine: Torque 3D by GarageGames. It had a rather steep learning curve, but we are now convinced that we've made the best possible choice.

The game is an unconventional Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game. With many years of playing MMO and RPG games behind us, we did our best to design a game that's incredibly fun to play and introduces a brand new side of MMOs while giving more to the player than grinding through static quest lines of the same type over and over again. Not any two players will experience the same game, the same events and the same tasks that lie ahead.

Playing in the near future, Xenocell is a sci-fi game. After mankind's first attempt to reach for the stars, upon entering the target system, our flagship, the UNS Eden is forced to crash land on the harsh alien world of Ibelis - because of reasons unknown at the time.

As a survivor, the player's primary role is staying alive in the unfriendly environment. The planet's wildlife, the weather, and even other survivors will risk the player's life continously. However, by gradually evolving through the help of the DNA of the local wildlife, it will be possible to survive on the harsh planet while gaining abilities that surpass those of humans.

Xenocell will be available for the PC, but a Mac version is likely to follow the PC release within a year. Its hardware requirements are not yet known.

Creating other multiplayer games are being considered. We plan to focus on the PC, Mac and iPhone platforms in the future, creating games that connect these platforms and their user bases.
